Since its development, the National Vegetation Classification (NVC) remains the standard for the identification of British Plant Communities. It is particularly important for ecology consultants and conservation managers who wish to better understand the habitats and broader ecological context and processes across any given area.
In this course recording which ran on 4th December 2022, we will introduce the NVC and cover background, key survey methods and the analysis and interpretation of results. This includes correlation of NVC categories to defined priority and Annex I habitat categories.
Participants should ideally possess some botanical identification skills and/or prior knowledge of basic habitat survey, although this is not a necessity.
